AFP news agency reported that the U.S. will add up to $10 billion in military aid to Ukraine and about 120 billion won in Korean money.

According to reports, Secretary of State Tony Blincoln issued a statement saying that he had authorized the disbursement of this amount of aid under the mandate of President Joe Biden.

This is due to the urgent need for anti-tank systems in Ukraine, Blincoln explained.

"The whole world was shocked and horrified by the atrocities committed by Russian forces in various parts of Ukraine, including Bucha," he said.

Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said in a separate statement that the funds would be used in response to the urgent need for additional anti-tank missiles, the Javelin, in Ukraine.

He added that the shoulder-fired Javelin missile is very useful in Ukrainian defense warfare.

Including today's announcement, the amount of US aid to Ukraine following Russia's invasion of Ukraine amounts to 1.7 billion dollars, or 2.7 trillion won in Korean money.

Earlier on the 1st, the U.S. Department of Defense announced an additional aid to Ukraine of $300 million and KRW 365.5 billion in Korean money.

At the time, Kirby said the U.S. would procure arms directly from manufacturers rather than sending its own stockpile of weapons.
