Shortly after one o'clock in the afternoon, police were sent to Slottsparken in Malmö because an unusual find had been made there.

A caller must have found parts of a skeleton in the park.

According to the police, the skeletal parts must not have been buried but were visible in front.

- These are skeletal parts that we do not know where they come from.

Therefore, we will investigate whether it is human and if so, it may be a suspected crime behind it, says Calle Persson, press spokesperson for the police in the South region.

The place is cordoned off

The site was cordoned off and technicians were called.

- We want to protect the place.

Partly to investigate whether there are more parts but also in case it would turn out to be a suspected crime.

In the current situation, we also do not know how old the skeletal parts are, says Calle Persson.

Similar event before

At the end of last year, the police cordoned off another area in Kungsparken in Malmö where bone remains had been found.

Then it turned out to be old bones from a burial site that had been on the site before.
