I usually see that it is a bit messy along the roads sometimes, but I have probably never seen anything to this extent, says freelance photographer Pontus Stenberg, who has been to the sites.
Common with dumping
Most of the dumping sites are located within the municipality of Strängnäs.
According to the municipality, a report has now been made and work is being done to get rid of the rubbish.
Littering is not a one-time phenomenon, according to the municipality.
Littering of coarse waste, as this is considered to be, is unfortunately common.
The municipality invests a lot of resources in keeping clean after others who do not take their responsibility, says Marija Lagerfelt.
Harmful to the environment
She says that dumped rubbish can affect both animals and nature.
Garbage can contaminate soil and water if they leach unwanted substances.
The animals can get stuck and / or ingest large amounts of plastic that damage and eventually kill them, she says.
