BEIJING, April 6 (Xinhua) -- Production of Boeing Co's new Air Force One jet faces disruptions in early 2022 due to problems at the planemaker's factories, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing sources.

The problem reportedly involved trying to mount one of two jets in development on jacks, but some of the jacks exceeded the limit, raising concerns about damage to the plane.

Boeing and the U.S. Department of Defense are negotiating a delivery time for the new Air Force One jet, the report said.

The report also said that in 2021, Boeing found two empty tequila bottles on an Air Force One plane being developed at its San Antonio factory, despite a ban on alcohol at the Boeing factory.

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has criticized Boeing for placing high prices on heavily modified 747-8 planes, Reuters reported.

However, the company signed a $3.9 billion contract in 2018 to build two Air Force One jets.

In addition, the Boeing 787 Dreamliner has also been plagued by production problems, resulting in delivery delays and many complaints.
