• Chronicle We, the Puig brothers

The Court of Instruction number 4 of Valencia has summoned to testify the brother of Ximo Puig, the

businessman Francis Puig

, who appears as being investigated in the case that investigates the

alleged fraud in the granting of public aid

.

Despite the fact that Francis Puig has been charged from the beginning in this case, he had not yet given a statement, something that he will have to do on May 23.

In this way, the focus, which has been in recent weeks on Vice President Mónica Oltra for the abuses of her ex-husband, will go back to President Puig.

Unlike the case against the Conselleria de Oltra, in this case the Popular Party appears among the accusations

,

which denounces that only in the Valencian Community the Castellón businessman

has obtained from the Government of Puig more than 636,000 euros in public aid

( as of February 2022).

In other words, since his brother became president in 2015, Francis Puig has obtained public subsidies worth more than half a million euros, while his partners, the

Adell Bover

brothers , have received almost 700,000 euros.

Most of these grants are for the

promotion of Valencian

, which is why they have been granted by the Coselleria de Educación, in the hands of Compromís.

Even so, it was precisely the partner of the PSOE in the Consell who launched an investigation against Francis Puig and his partners for setting up a cartel of production companies, since it fell to the Commission for the Defense of Competition of the Valencian Community, dependent on Economy.

This body ended up sanctioning businessmen for agreeing on prices to qualify for a contract with the Valencian public broadcaster À Punt.

It was the entity itself that denounced him.

The case that is now being investigated in the Court of Instruction is based on the PP complaint against Francis Puig and his partners for the possible fraudulent award of subsidies not only from the Generalitat Valenciana, but also from the

Generalitat de Catalunya and the Government of Aragón

to the commercial companies Comunicacions dels Ports, Mas Mut, Canal Maestrat, and Kriol Produccions between 2015 and 2018.

The judge already agreed last January to

extend the investigation for six months

as it is a "complex case due to the number of people investigated and the nature of the crime."

After Francis Puig's statement, that of his partner Juan Enrique Adell Bover will arrive two days later, since he is scheduled for May 25.
