For several years, the rescue service Östra Kronoberg has tried to recruit staff for the station in Rävemåla.

But the problems with finding staff mean that it is not possible to maintain preparedness.

- We have lost the recruitment battle and must therefore announce that the station in Rävemåla will be closed down due to staff shortages, the rescue service Östra Kronoberg writes in a press release.

Want to find a "civilian service person"

To be able to be ready with two people around the clock, at least four or five people had to be recruited.

The rescue service will investigate with associations and residents in the locality whether it is possible to create a CIP, civilian response person;

ie volunteers who cooperate with the rescue service and who receive alarms about, for example, fire, cardiac arrest or traffic accident and who can be a first aid person on site.

The rescue service Östra Kronoberg also intends to try to strengthen preparedness at nearby stations, they write in the press release.
