The customs officers of the Pyrénées-Orientales are in very good shape at the moment.

In just a few days between the end of March and the beginning of April, they seized more than 750 kg of cannabis during various checks around Perpignan, reports

On March 29, a 60-year-old transporting more than 163 kg of herbal cannabis in a truck was arrested by customs officers.

The next day, a Frenchman driving a rental car with 420 kg of cannabis pollen was arrested in turn.

On March 31, a third man transporting 141 kg of drugs was intercepted by the authorities.

Chain entries

All three have requested, through their lawyers, time to prepare their defence.

The trials were adjourned and the defendants were remanded in custody until their trial.

Finally, on April 1, customs officers discovered 32 kg of cannabis in a semi-trailer carrying fruit and vegetables.

Judged in immediate appearance, the carrier was sentenced to 18 months in prison, six of which were suspended, a fine of 56,000 euros and a three-year ban on territory.
