A fairground is a prime place to produce photos that can be used to illustrate stories about a politician in crisis mode during difficult times.

There are also these backdrops on the Ratsweg fairground at the springtime Dippemess': the largest mobile roller coaster in Germany at one end of the fairgrounds, on which it goes up and down even faster than in a politician's life, no matter how turbulent it is.

Or a labyrinth in which one can get lost and entangled, such as when dealing with political or political structures.

Of course, there is also the chain carousel, which on the one hand can transport its passengers close to weightlessness, but on the other hand always threatens to catapult them out of orbit.

On the other hand, there is no “free fall” at the Dippemess'.

As a precaution, the mayor also avoided the "Daemonium", the largest mobile ghost train in the world, in which showman Martin Blume even works with "live scarers".

Ultimately, he settled down with Thomas Roie, the chairman of the Frankfurt/Rhine-Main Showmen's Association, in a ride called "Circus Circus", where you are constantly turned in different directions.

However, the ejection seat seems too cheap as a metaphor to use the image to further discuss the fate of the mayor.

Waiver of momem appointment

Feldmann already seemed a bit tense on the fairground.

On Thursday, in reaction to the indictment by the public prosecutor's office for possible advantage and the criticism of the factions in the Romans, he announced in the city council that he would temporarily impose public restraint and only observe "appointments with a sense of proportion".

This Wednesday, for example, he delegates the opening of the Museum of Modern Electronic Music to Ina Hartwig (SPD), head of the cultural department.

"But you can't do that to me not to go to the folk festival," he said, underlining his will not to withdraw completely from the public until the lawyers have spoken about him.

"I'm not hiding!" On Friday, for example, he and his daughters will immediately go to the rides and eat the products at the snack bars that could not be found on the fairground in the past two spring seasons because of Corona.

Feldmann underscored how much folk festivals have always been a matter close to his heart.

He enjoys an impeccable reputation among showmen because he always supports their trade and, for example, pushed through the autumn dippemess and the Christmas market despite all the corona skepticism and thus probably saved livelihoods.

With his visit to Dippemess, Feldmann may be following the advice given by showman boss Roie in relation to the current crises in the world: "Especially in times like these, folk festivals are there so that people can forget their worries and think about other things." The best thing for this is the new Ferris wheel from the Willenborg family of showmen in Munich.

From the apex at a height of 45 meters, everything looks "en miniature".

And the worries are a little smaller, at least for one revolution of the Ferris wheel.
