The Reds first dominated unchallenged, leading to the score thanks to French defender Ibrahima Konaté (17th) from a corner then to Sadio Mané (34th), before being surprised by Darwin Nunez (49th), opportunist after a gross error from Konate.
It was finally former Porto winger Luiz Diaz who gave the Reds two clear goals (87th), crucial before the return match in a week.
