"Gulf Cooperation" stresses the importance of Yemeni consultations in achieving security and stability

The Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, Dr. Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf, stressed the importance of the "Yemeni-Yemeni" consultations under the auspices of the Council, in supporting Yemen and the brotherly Yemeni people to end the conflict and achieve security and stability.

He renewed the council's support for Yemen and the Yemeni people in light of constitutional legitimacy through a political solution based on the three references represented in the Gulf initiative and its executive mechanism, the outcomes of the comprehensive National Dialogue Conference and Security Council resolution 2216, as well as the implementation of the provisions of the Riyadh Agreement.

This came during his meeting at the headquarters of the Council’s secretariat, with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Yemen, Dr. Moeen Abdul-Malik. During the meeting, which was attended by members of the government of competencies participating in the Yemeni-Yemeni consultations, the efforts and initiatives of the GCC states aimed at achieving security, stability and peace in Yemen in light of the consultations hosted by them were reviewed. The meeting reviewed the international efforts to end the conflict and the armistice announced by the UN Special Envoy for Yemen Hans Grundberg. The Secretary-General also expressed his thanks and appreciation for the rapid response of the leadership of the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen to the call to stop military operations inside Yemen, which was launched by Al-Hajraf with the aim of creating the appropriate conditions for the success of consultations.

He stressed the importance of building on the outcomes of these efforts, which reflect a Gulf, regional and international keenness to support the stability of Yemen and achieve everything that would end the conflict and advance the development, relief and economic fields in accordance with the aspirations of the brotherly Yemeni people and achieve all that is good and prosperous.

In addition, Yemeni sources participating in the Riyadh consultations confirmed that the consultations began today, Tuesday, to provide solutions and remedies to the issues at hand, and the sources indicated that the six committees formed in the consultations began providing implementation mechanisms for the issues identified during the past days, and discussing them with the government side, and in light of the direction International to transform the armistice in Yemen into a permanent armistice and bring peace, and the sources confirmed that the Riyadh consultations are the real beginning of the end of the Yemeni crisis.

On the ground, the Yemeni Ministry of Defense confirmed on its official website that the Houthi militias committed 84 violations of the UN armistice on the fronts of the West Coast and the governorates of Ma'rib, Taiz, Al Dhale' and Hajjah.

In Hodeidah, the security media of the joint forces indicated that the militias escalated their violations towards the Al-Barah axis, west of Taiz, sent reinforcements and bombed the joint presence areas on the western side of Al-Barah.

Local sources confirmed that huge explosions occurred in the city of Hodeidah, the center of the governorate, as a result of the explosion of a mine depot belonging to the militias.

In the context of implementing the terms of the truce, informed sources confirmed the opening of the "Nehm Fort" road, which links the Yemeni capital, Sana'a, with the governorates of Ma'rib and Al-Jawf, which has been cut off since 2015, in light of the battles that took place in Nihm, Al-Jawf and Ma'rib axes.

Clashes resumed between the tribes of Ayal Sareeh in Amran against the Houthi militia against the background of the killing of one of the tribesmen. Sources confirmed that the tribes inflicted heavy losses on the militias and were able to damage Houthi combat mechanisms and control the road between Sanaa and Saada, and prevented the Houthis from sending combat reinforcements to the region.
