The team will visit places in the county where refugees are, and be present at the Swedish Migration Board in Växjö, Region Kronoberg writes in a press release.

The surveys are offered to detect any ill health or need for infection control measures, and to inform about the possibility of receiving health care and dental care in Sweden.

They also offer covid-19 vaccine.

"Offered vaccination"

- We will cover the entire county by being in different places at different times, says Yvonne Hellsten, who is operations manager for the coordination unit.

The mobile teams started their work already on Friday.

Ukrainian refugees do not need to seek asylum in Sweden, even refugees from other countries seeking asylum have the right to a free health examination and vaccination, according to Yvonne Hellsten.

The Kronoberg region has also opened a new telephone line where refugees or people in their vicinity can get in touch to book an appointment.
