McDonald's restaurants in the United States brought out Szechuan sauce on Thursday 31, reports

Business Insider

relayed by

Capital

.

The latter, initially offered for only a few months in 1998 on the occasion of the release of Mulan, had been redistributed temporarily in 2017 and 2018, causing real riots in some restaurants.

In the meantime, this sauce had been made famous by the

Rick and Morty

series .

In the first episode of season 3, Rick, the mad scientist grandfather of the series, had mentioned this sauce several times, calling it "delicious" and claiming in a feverish monologue that he would do anything to find it.

As a result, when McDonald's announced the exceptional remarketing of the condiment, many fans of the series mobilized, causing several unexpected crowds and a rapid shortage.

Precautions to avoid further riots

On the occasion of this new exceptional sale, several McDonald's sellers shared their apprehension.

“I hope to be ready for this event”, for example expressed one of them.

To avoid any overflow and any abuse, various measures have been taken.

The sauces have been locked in cupboards that can only be opened by a single employee or the general manager.

The number of sauces per customer has also been limited to five.

Finally, they can only be ordered through the application.
