They had expensive tastes.

Three people were arrested last Wednesday by the gendarmes of the North, suspected of being at the origin of trafficking in parts of stolen vehicles of the Range Rover brand, we learned from the gendarmes of inner Flanders.

The case started from information obtained by the Hazebrouck gendarmerie from a surveillance company, about a vehicle reported stolen in June 2021 which reappeared a few days later in Blaringhem, near Saint-Omer , in the north.

The gendarmes went to the scene and actually found the Range Rover in question, parked in a warehouse located in a craft area.

A real little clandestine garage

Except that inside the hangar, the military discovered much more than the stolen luxury 4x4.

Indeed, three other vehicles of the same brand reported stolen were stored there, as well as many Range Rover spare parts and automotive mechanical equipment.

A veritable little clandestine garage.

A discovery that prompted the gendarmes to investigate further.

The investigations lasted several months, at the end of which three suspects were identified and implicated in 13 thefts of similar vehicles perpetrated between January and June 2021.

Last Wednesday, the gendarmes launched operations to arrest the suspects, who were picked up in Pas-de-Calais and Oise.

One of them was already imprisoned for facts that have not been specified.

All were placed in police custody before being referred to the Dunkirk prosecutor's office for indictment.

Pending their trial, in May, two were released under judicial supervision and the third returned to prison.
