Tragic epilogue in the Marne.

A girl and a woman, her mother according to the first elements of the investigation, were shot dead on Monday, the prosecution said, adding that they had taken into custody a man, presumably the father, suspected of having killed them.

They were shot in a caravan near Loisy-sur-Marne, while police were preparing to arrest a couple, wanted for having kidnapped the girl several weeks ago, said the prosecutor of Chalons-en-Champagne ( Marne), Ombeline Mahuzier.

Late Monday afternoon, police officers from the Auxerre PJ heard the explosions, and discovered the 47-year-old woman and the 9-year-old girl, fatally shot in the head.

They immediately arrested the man who was at the scene, also aged 47, and he was taken into custody.

Girl kidnapped by her parents

An investigation for homicide of a spouse and homicide of a 15-year-old minor was opened and entrusted to the research section of the Reims gendarmerie.

The family had obviously taken refuge in the caravan installed not far from the road, where the hygienic conditions were deplorable, specified Ombeline Mahuzier.

The girl had been placed with the children's services, and her parents had kidnapped her several weeks ago, triggering the opening of an investigation entrusted to the judicial police by the Auxerre prosecution.
