A serious accident occurred at the Vert-de-Maisons station (Val-de-Marne) this Sunday at the end of the day.

A man died after being hit by a TGV shortly after 5 p.m., reports Actu Val-de-Marne.

Traffic was interrupted for several hours in the SNCF station to allow firefighters and police to intervene.

The dramatic incident caused many delays on the lines passing through Vert-de-Maisons.

Traffic interrupted between Paris and Melun

Delays ranging from 30 minutes to 2 hours affected TGV, OUIGO and Intercités journeys.

Traffic has been greatly slowed down on several lines departing from Paris Gare de Lyon and passing through Orry-la-Ville, Villeneuve-Saint-Georges or Corbeil-Essonnes.

Traffic was also completely interrupted on line R between Paris and Melun.

Traffic gradually returned to normal late Sunday evening.
