Herbert Gerjuoy points out that "the illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn and relearn".

Telefónica makes this maxim its own by embedding learning and innovation in its DNA, recently making it visible through the creation of the

Global Innovation and Talent Hub

, which was launched in October with the mission of turning its headquarters in Madrid into a large nerve center where knowledge from all the countries in which it operates will be connected and which will consolidate Spain's leadership in the design and creation of the new digital world.

This global commitment to meet the new needs of the digital society and talent welcomes the corporate university of Telefónica, Universitas, which is reinventing itself and transforming itself, after the experience acquired in its more than 15 years of existence, leading and innovating towards an ecosystem of learning in which he re-imagines the classroom and the training of the future, aligning it with the company's strategy and the changing environment in which digitization leads us.

Universitas thus becomes a cornerstone for the organization's talent as a driver of change.

And it does so, of course, giving a leading role to people and to the human dimension that training must always include.

Hybrid and liquid learning on the new campus

To make it a reality, Universitas opens a new campus at the company's headquarters: 2,000 m2 with the best spaces and the most advanced technology to incorporate new resources and methodologies, which promote new ways of learning to address the personal transformation that challenges require from the future.

The classrooms themselves already represent a high-impact experience as they have completely disruptive technological equipment, at the level of the most cutting-edge international business schools, which will allow an immersive student experience both in person and online.

Thus, the new campus houses three interactive classrooms, among which is what could be called the 'Aula Magna del futuro', in which more than 120 connected people will be able to attend, through the virtual learning environment, which is projected on a 27-meter multiscreen with another 56 students in situ, with completely synchronous interaction and with an open space in stands to follow the training as a listener.

This hybrid learning model enables all the company's talent to access, from a single access point, the

Learning Tech Ecosystem

, which will act as a gateway to Telefónica's entire corporate training plan, incorporating both local and global offerings, regardless of whether the users are in Brazil, Spain, Germany or in any of the countries in which the telco has operations.

The training offer will include, as it could not be otherwise, learning about the new digital knowledge in 'soft skills' or 'soft skills', which will allow alignment in the culture and values of the company, they become the key lever to address the execution of the challenges and objectives that the company proposes.

For this reason, and coinciding with the inauguration of the Universitas campus, the

'Power of Connections'

program will be launched , aimed at all employees with the aim of inspiring, connecting and aligning around the purpose, vision and culture of the Group.

The campus thus becomes a liquid, collaborative and cooperative learning space that enables connections between different teams, areas, people from the entire Telefónica universe, more than 100,000, under flexible schemes in this training-new skills hybridization, which will be able to get the best out of internal talent and innovation.

The best of people.
