The French television channel FR24 has interviewed a man who is in command of a group of drone pilots in Ukraine.

- We work around the clock, observe the enemy and determine exactly where it is.

Then we strike.

Sometimes they can hear us, because some drones can be recognized by the sound.

Then they usually rush away in panic, but not everyone survives.

A drone is an unmanned aircraft that is available in several different sizes.

Some can be equipped with weapons, others are used for reconnaissance and to inform the artillery about exactly where the Russian forces are and provide fire control.

The use of drones has become an important part of Ukraine's defense against the Russian invasion.

There are several examples of how small, agile units equipped with drones should have managed to slow down the offensive.

Travel on quad bikes

According to The Guardian, it was a group of only 30 specially trained soldiers and drone pilots who got the infamous Russian giant convoy stuck.

Equipped with sight for night vision, sniper rifles, remote-controlled mines and not least self-constructed drones capable of dropping bombs weighing up to 1.5 kilos, the Ukrainians ambushed along the road to Kyiv.

They managed to destroy the tanks at the front of the mile-long convoy so that the vehicles behind were forced to stop.

The Ukrainians then attacked the trucks loaded with fuel and ammunition and then retreated through the forest on quad bikes.

The information comes from the Ukrainian side and is not confirmed by independent sources.

The group is said to have been recruited from a unit called "Aerozvidka" which specializes in warfare and drone reconnaissance.

Aerozvidka was started eight years ago by volunteer IT specialists and engineers.

Now the group, which is partly financed through crowdfunding, has developed into a decisive factor in the repository of Ukraine.
