The political decision about a leisure bank in Flen was made a couple of years ago and the reason why it does not open until now is that it has taken time to find the right premises.
Now they have moved into the sports facility Hammarvallen, in a house that was previously both an evacuation home and a preschool.
Fritidsbanken is like a library, but instead of books you can borrow sports equipment.
In 2021, the leisure banks around Sweden together lent 600,000 sporting goods.
The county's other five leisure banks are located in Eskilstuna, Nyköping, Strängnäs, Katrineholm and Vingåker.
14 day loan
In Flen you can borrow skis, skates, cube games, golf clubs, stick horses and inline skates.
The facility is open a couple of hours for three days a week: Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
The loan period is 14 days - unless otherwise agreed with the staff.
