Scientists have transformed the three-dimensional structure of a spider's web into music.
For this, they worked with the musician Tomás Saraceno and created an interactive musical instrument, called “Spider's Canvas”.
The aim of the scientists was to better understand the sensory environment of spiders, reports

These animals do not see very well and perceive their environment thanks to their body covered with hair and slits.
The spider thus feels everything that happens on its web, analyzing the vibrations of the threads, each of which emits a different frequency.
Arachnid score
It is this unique phenomenon that the researchers wanted to translate into music.
They thus created a 3D reproduction of the web of a
Cyrtophora citricola
spider , enclosed in a rectangular box.
They then assigned a different sound frequency to each strand of the canvas, transforming the whole work into a score.
The researchers also released a video showing the gradual construction of a web.
The notes thus change and become more complex as the spider weaves its dwelling-trap.
They added a virtual reality experience, which makes it possible to perceive the vibrations recorded by the beast.
Enough to become a spider man or woman for a while.
