The law on special restrictions to prevent the spread of covid-19 disease, better known as the pandemic law, has expired.

Covid-19 is no longer classified as a dangerous or socially dangerous disease.

In practical terms, this does not mean much because there has been no broad testing and infection tracking of the public since the ninth of February.

This change is reasonable when it is judged that for the individual the risk of serious illness is less because so many are vaccinated and because the current micro-variant variant less often causes serious illness, says Johan Nöjd, infection control doctor in the Uppsala Region.
