It is a huge bamboo pavilion of 1,000 m2, inspired by indigenous Amazonian houses.

And it's also the home of Brazilian photographer Sebastiao Salgado's new exhibition, titled

Aqua Mater

.

50 photographs on the theme of water, to see from April 1 until September 22 on the Esplanade de Paris La Défense.

The shots come from the photographer's countless travels across the planet, from the Amazon to Iceland, from the Arctic to the Sahara, and invite the public to a "spatio-temporal leap" into the heart of nature in interaction with humans and the animal kingdom.

The bamboo pavilion was designed by Colombian architect Simon Velez.

It was built with 'guadua', a giant bamboo from the wettest area of our planet that requires very little water to grow.
