The coastal city of Odessa is a city with a long history and is often called the "Pearl of the Black Sea".

At the end of the 19th century, Odessa was Russia's third largest city, and with its southern European and Renaissance-inspired architecture, the city has always stood out under Russian and Soviet rule.

- Over 150 different ethnicities have lived together here since the 19th century.

And they all call Odessa "Mother", says Anna Misiun.

Along the promenade, people go for a walk and in cafes you sip your coffee.

But at the same time, the mood is strange.

Both relaxed and tense at the same time.

For Odessa resident Sergey Steblina, the idea of war is hard to ignore.

- Are we the dessert after the main dishes Kharkiv and Mariupol?

I do not hope so but the idea is difficult.
