A resident of Grandvilliers (Oise) was placed in police custody on Tuesday evening as part of an investigation for "murder by partner".

In the afternoon, a 52-year-old man was found unresponsive in the street, near the home of the suspect, his companion.

When they arrived, doctors were unable to revive the victim.

They had also noted "two perforations at the level of the heart as well as a wound in the head" on the body of the 50-year-old, said the Beauvais prosecutor's office the next day.

When she left her house several hours later, the alcoholic suspect was wearing a bloodstained shoe.

She spoke of “a verbal argument”.

Witnesses spoke of regular disputes within the couple, a heavy consumption of alcohol as well as outbursts of jealousy and violence on the part of the forties.
