Yemeni consultations start in Riyadh

The "Yemeni-Yemeni" consultations began today, Wednesday, under the auspices of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Riyadh, and will continue until the seventh of next April.

According to Al-Arabiya channel, the Secretary-General of the Council, Nayef Falah Al-Hajraf, said, “The Riyadh Agreement constitutes a road map in Yemen and the completion of its provisions is a Yemeni demand,” and explained that a peaceful solution is the only way to the crisis in Yemen. He also saw that “Yemeni consultations It represents a platform for diagnosing reality to move the country from war to peace. The solution is Yemeni and in the hands of Yemenis."

For his part, the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Yemen, Hans Grundberg, announced that "cooperation with regional organizations will contribute to resolving the Yemen crisis," adding: "We need all possible support to reach a comprehensive solution in Yemen."

The US envoy to Yemen, Tim Lenderking, affirmed that "the United States supports the Yemeni parties reaching a comprehensive peaceful solution," praising the coalition's decision to "stop hostilities in Yemen."

He was the official spokesman for the coalition forces, the "Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen".Brigadier General Turki Al-Maliki stated that, in response to the invitation submitted by the Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, Dr. Nayef Al-Hajraf, to request the cessation of military operations in conjunction with the launch of the Yemeni-Yemeni consultations, and with the aim of creating the appropriate conditions for the success of the consultations and creating a positive environment during the holy month of Ramadan to make peace and achieve Security and stability in Yemen, therefore, the Joint Forces Command of the Coalition announces the cessation of military operations inside Yemen as of six in the morning on Wednesday (27 Shaaban 1443 AH), corresponding to (March 30, 2022 AD), in response to the call and in support of the efforts and endeavors to reach a comprehensive and sustainable political solution to end the Yemeni crisis And achieving security and stability for brotherly Yemen, which comes in the context of international initiatives and efforts under the auspices of the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations for Yemen and the Saudi initiative to end the Yemeni crisis and reach a comprehensive political solution.

Brigadier General Al-Maliki explained that the leadership of the joint forces of the coalition will abide by the ceasefire and will take all steps and measures to make the ceasefire successful, create appropriate conditions and create a positive environment during the holy month of Ramadan to make peace and end the crisis.

Brigadier-General Al-Maliki affirmed the stability of the position of the Joint Forces Command of the coalition in support of the legitimate Yemeni government with its political stance, measures and military procedures.
