The ship, which is loaded with iron, passed through the Södertälje canal and lock on Wednesday morning - and will be unloaded in the port of Köping on Thursday.

The Swedish Port Workers' Union has initiated a blockade against Russian ships, but since the staff at the port of Köping do not have an agreement with the union, it does not affect the unloading.

- We are a public port, we have socially important activities and can therefore not say no to a ship as long as they do not violate any rules, says the port's CEO Carola Alzén.

However, they have made a different decision.

- We donate the profits to Ukraine.

I hope every company in this chain thinks the same way we do.

The port charges a fee for handling the ship and unloading the goods, but they do not yet know exactly how big the profit will be.

Transport holds an extra meeting

In recent weeks, SVT has examined the infected issue of Russian ships and Russian goods in Swedish ports.

The government is sticking to the line of waiting for a joint EU decision on a possible stop for Russian ships.

But now the pressure on ministers is increasing.

On Wednesday evening, the Transport Workers' Union will hold an extra board meeting - and according to SVT's information, they may also decide on a blockade.

Last week, the Left Party, the Green Party and the Christian Democrats called for a national stop for Russian ships to call at Swedish ports.

KD has now taken a committee initiative on the issue.
