The man who is a resident of northwestern Skåne is said to have exposed a total of 42 children and is now charged with several cases of rape of children, sexual abuse of children, several cases of sexual posing and sexual harassment.

All crimes must have been committed online where the man must have pretended to be a young girl.

According to the prosecutor, he had contact with the girls via social media and asked them to perform sexual acts on themselves.

- All crimes have been committed online.

So there are no crimes committed physically, says chamber prosecutor Linda Seger.

Hear the prosecutor tell about the case in the clip above.

More cases were discovered during the investigation

The abuse began in 2018 and a report was not made until 2019. The man was detained for a short period in the spring of 2020 but was then released.

During that time, the man has not committed any further crimes.

- We have investigated this and we have not found any evidence that it would be that way.

From what we can see, the crime seems to have ceased in connection with his being deprived of his liberty, says Linda Seger.

In the autumn of last year, the man was arrested again when there was a risk that he would complicate the investigation or continue his criminal career.

Police also found child pornography

The girls with whom Northwest Skåne is said to have had contact must come from all over the country.

Only one plaintiff has reported an incident himself and the police have discovered more cases during the investigation.

In order to identify the girls, the police have initiated international cooperation.

And that is partly one of the reasons why the investigation took time.

- It has been worth the wait because we would not have found the girls without the collaboration, says Linda Seger.

The man is also charged with a serious child pornography offense for having had over a thousand photos and more than 580 films of child pornography.

Many of them are considered to be particularly ruthless abusive material according to the indictment.

Initially, the man denied but now he admits crime.
