A press release from the Church of Sweden proclaims that the preliminary result of the nominations for the election of the archbishop is clear.

Among those who have the opportunity to become archbishop are Bishop Martin Modéus, Linköping diocese, who received the most votes, followed by Bishop Johan Dalman, Strängnäs diocese, Bishop Mikael Mogren, Bishop Karin Johannesson, Uppsala diocese, and Bishop Fredrik Modéus, Växjö diocese.

Archbishop's election 18 May

On April 22, a hearing will be held in Uppsala with the candidates ahead of the final archbishop election.

The hearing will be broadcast live on the web.

A new archbishop is elected on 18 May.

Should there be a draw, a new round of elections will take place on June 8 between the two who received the most votes.
