In the Socialist Party, everyone is already advancing their pawns and preparing the battle to rebuild the party, awaiting a historic defeat for Anne Hidalgo.

Internally, two camps are opposed under two leaders: on the one hand Olivier Faure, on the other François Hollande.

In the Socialist Party (PS), the war is raging.

On one side, the camp of Olivier Faure, first secretary.

On the other, the former tenors of the party, led by François Hollande who wants to get his hands on the PS.

Last week in Limoges, the former head of state announced "want to participate in the reconstruction of his camp".

Waiting for a historic defeat

Immediately after this announcement, "several young parliamentarians and socialist mayors threatened to leave the party, if François Hollande returned", affirms a senior leader who explains "that the former president had ruined the party and is now scaring away the voters".

And the young guard drives the point home: "François Hollande, has no faithful, they are all at Macron", tackles one of them.

But the former head of state is advancing his pawns well, the proof: it is Patrick Menucci, close to François Hollande, who "took over the management of the campaign from Anne Hidalgo, after the unofficial resignation in January of Johanna Rolland, his campaign manager", confides a socialist deputy.

Only point of agreement between the two camps, the expectation of a historic defeat of the PS, each betting on a score well below 5%.
