The Presidential Transition Committee (Acquisition Committee) announced today (29th) that it would persuade the Democratic Party of Korea, the majority party in the National Assembly, to revise the law in relation to the reorganization of the so-called 'Lease 3 Act'.

The transition committee has come up with a plan to implement supplementary measures that can be implemented before the amendment of the law, as the amendment of the law may go to a long-term battle due to differences of opinion between the ruling and opposition parties.

Shim Gyo-eon, a real estate professor at Konkuk University, who heads the real estate task force of the transition committee, pointed out at a briefing today at the transition committee in Tongui-dong, Jongno-gu, "The current government has introduced the 3 rental law without sufficient social agreement and grace period, and has greatly damaged the safety of the people's residence." and said this.

Professor Shim said, "The next government will review system improvements, including the abolition or reduction of the 3 rental law, to restore market functions.

Professor Shim emphasized, "Based on the national consensus on the side effects of the 3 rental law, we plan to persuade the Democratic Party to revise the law."

Professor Shim said that the revision of the 3 rental law may take a long time and suggested ▲ private rental registration ▲ private rental housing revitalization as short-term measures prior to the revision of the law.

Professor Shim explained, "With regard to the revitalization of the private sector, there are quite a few things that can be done without amendment of the law, and I put a lot of content that the opposition and opposition parties agree on first."

Won Il-hee, senior deputy spokesperson for the transition committee, said, "We will comprehensively review and promote the improvement of the housing rental system, including the abolition and reduction of the 3 rental laws, in stages. The opinion of the acquisition committee,” he said.
