SVT Nyheter emailed questions to all parties in the regional council.

The Green Party has not answered the questions.

CENTER PARTY:

1. How does your party want to shorten the care queues in Västerbotten?

Region Västerbotten is worse than other regions at fulfilling the care guarantee.

There is a lot that needs to be improved here.

A first step is that primary care is provided with more resources, both financially and in terms of competence.

It is important to have effective teamwork around the patient so that primary care becomes the hub of the region's health and medical care.

Patients' participation in their own care must increase and health-promoting support is given higher priority.

In the supplementary budget that the Center Party presented together with M, L and KD, we invested SEK 100 million in shortening the care queues compared with the majority's SEK 89 million.

2. What promises does your party give to patients waiting for care in the county?

The Center Party will shorten the queues in healthcare and more people will have regular contact with doctors.

With the Center Party's leadership, the Västerbotten Region will become a better employer.

More employees who thrive at work contribute to shorter care queues.

It is important to dare to re-prioritize when the situation is critical so that the focus is on shortening queues.

Desiree Coulton (C), Political Secretary.

CHRISTIAN DEMOCRATS:

1. How does your party want to shorten the care queues in Västerbotten?

The Christian Democrats want to increase the number of care places at the county's three hospitals through clear and important investments in staff.

In response to the growing care queues, we also want to develop a Västerbotten queue billion, to encourage and reward clinics and departments to work concretely to shorten their care queues.

It is an important teamwork that the employees do and we want to continue to encourage their important work.

We also want to introduce a regional care service among the regions in the north where we can be helped to graze the queues together.

And also that other care providers linked to the region should help in the purchase processing to a greater extent.

2. What promises does your party give to patients waiting for care in the county?

Healthcare must offer accessible and dignified care of good quality on equal terms.

Health promotion and preventive care must be prioritized and be a natural part of all care meetings.

You should not have to wait longer than the care guarantee offers.

Then you must be offered care in another region or another provider.

In a Christian Democratic-governed region, no one should wait longer than the care guarantee and the Christian Democrats put the individual before the system and quality always weighs heavier than who performs the services.

Hans-Inge Smetana (KD), group leader.

THE LIBERALS:

1. How does your party want to shorten the care queues in Västerbotten?

Firstly, it is about having a long-term plan for personnel policy.

Today, we have a great shortage of nurses, even in some clinics, even assistant nurses.

Instead of "putting out fires", it is necessary to increase basic staffing.

Without staff, the queues will not be shortened.

You need to look more at care flows and care chains and that they are connected so that the patient does not get stuck.

The Liberals want to work together with other alliance parties in collaboration with staff and trade unions to find temporary and long-term solutions that make it possible to cut queues.

In addition, we must be prepared to procure care within the country and within the Nordic region.

The Liberals and the alliance are investing SEK 100 million in the supplementary budget to create care-free care.

The Liberals, together with other alliance parties, are also investing in staff with SEK 70 million, which will go to an increased salary pool, personnel fund, career paths and an improved work environment in wards with a high burden of care.

2. What promises does your party give to patients waiting for care in the county?

The Liberals want to establish a permanent doctor contact at the health centers, it provides security and continuity.

We also want to introduce elderly clinics at our health centers.

The Liberals also want to increase the number of care places as they have been greatly reduced.

We want to ensure care places for a dignified, accessible and high-quality care.

It creates safer care for patients and a good working environment for staff.

Staffing, being a good employer is absolutely the most important thing so that patients do not have to wait.

Maria Lundqvist Brömster (L), group leader.

THE MODERATES:

1.

How does your party want to shorten the care queues in Västerbotten?

Through strong investments in shortening care queues and in care staff.

We want to reduce unnecessary and expensive bureaucracy and other non-care activities.

This means that we can free up time and money to strengthen the healthcare's core business, where we want to prioritize care-free care and better conditions for healthcare employees.

We want to introduce a local queue billion that gives extra money to the businesses that shorten the queues.

2.

What promises does your party give to patients waiting for care in the county?

In the event of a bourgeois change of power, the region must provide care-free care.

Niklas Sandström (M), Opposition Councilor.

THE SOCIAL DEMOCRATS:

1. How does your party want to shorten the care queues in Västerbotten?

The region's main task is to provide care to the citizens based on need and that shortening the care queues is an important part of that work.

The staff is our most important resource for being able to graze the care queues.

That is why we invest in our staff by investing in a good working environment, good working conditions and more colleagues.

The big challenge in Västerbotten is the lack of the right skills, we need more people who are trained in the care professions.

We are therefore investing in being able to further our education during paid working hours.

When it comes to staff training, however, greater responsibility is required from the metropolitan regions, as there are restrictions on how many we can train at the same time in Västerbotten based on the requirement for work-based training (VFU).

Investments are also being made in digital tools and we want to continue to develop 1177 so that we can quickly get in touch with healthcare.

2. What promises does your party give to patients waiting for care in the county?

We want it to be easy to get in touch with care and it should always be clear to patients what constitutes the next step in a care process.

As a patient, you should never worry about falling between the chairs.

Reducing the care queues is a main priority for the Social Democrats and we will continue to work to ensure that care is provided as needed and that the care guarantee is fulfilled.

Peter Olofsson (S), regional councilor.

SWEDEN DEMOCRATS:

1. How does your party want to shorten the care queues in Västerbotten?

The Sweden Democrats prioritize care and real estate investments, the only party that has budgeted properly for real estate investments during the last time the regional council adopted a budget (2021).

We finance our investments in healthcare and real estate investments by making savings in administration, tax-financed culture that benefits individual municipalities, political organizations, and projects.

The Sweden Democrats will continue to prioritize care.

We need a stable staff, staff who thrive and stay.

We need good properties.

No one should fall between the cracks - the coordination between municipalities and the region needs to work better in the future.

More money is needed for healthcare, to make it more accessible - less queues.

2.

What promises does your party give to patients waiting for care in the county?

The Sweden Democrats are the party that has continuously invested the most money in healthcare - and in good buildings as we prioritize healthcare.

The staff and a good working environment are important priorities for a well-functioning care, which means the best conditions for reducing the queues and that the staff thrive so they stay in the Region.

Petter Nilsson (SD), chairman.

LEFT PARTY:

1. How does your party want to shorten the care queues in Västerbotten?

We must see everyone's care needs, such as people with chronic diseases, not just those in the queues that are registered.

There is no quick fix.

The pandemic has meant that care has been postponed in time, but also that people have waited to seek care and are more advanced in their illness when they apply.

With more people in need, it is even more important to follow the principle that care should be provided as needed.

Through cooperation with other regions, we want to streamline and shorten the queues.

If we buy a lot from private companies, there is a risk that we will become just as dependent on them as on hired doctors.

Better to hire the staff yourself.

2. What promises does your party give to patients waiting for care in the county?

That care should be given as needed.

We do not accept that patients buy before the queue or other sour cream solutions.

That we work to have good accessibility for everyone, even for people with chronic diseases and for those who for various reasons do not have the opportunity to have their treatment performed in other parts of the country.

That we continue to develop new tools, such as consultation and treatment at a distance, so that more people can access care more quickly and easily.

Jonas Karlberg (V), regional councilor.
