29 percent of the patients in the county have had to wait longer for care than the law says.

- It is a serious problem that patients do not receive the care they need, says Lars Rocksén, first vice chairman of the Swedish Medical Association.

SVT's Assignment Review and local news have with statistics for the years 2016-2020 ranked the country's regions based on accessibility.

A and B teams

The statistics, which are taken from Sweden's municipalities and regions, SKR, and the Stockholm Region, show that patients in the north have to wait the longest.

The winners are the residents who live in Kalmar, Jönköping, Halland, Stockholm and on Gotland.

The losers are those who live in Västernorrland, Västerbotten, Norrbotten, Värmland, Jämtland-Härjedalen.

- I think it is unfortunate that the counties of Norrland and the forest counties are affected by the lack of resources that exist in healthcare today.
