Saudi Arabia announces rules for traveling iftar at the Grand Mosque during Ramadan

The General Presidency Agency for Field Services and Affairs at the Grand Mosque announced the controls for providing breakfast travel service during the month of Ramadan in the Grand Mosque.

The agency said that the controls are the commitment to provide good quality of undivided travel and not to separate it in the corridors and places not designated for breakfast, while clarifying the foods allowed to enter during the month of Ramadan, which are dry foods such as bread and cheese.

The Under-Secretary of the General President for Services and Field Affairs and the Investigation of Environmental Protection, Muhammad bin Musleh Al-Jabri, stressed the need for travel officials to provide plastic plates of the appropriate size to put dates in, and to use plastic gloves when preparing breakfast for fasting people.

Muhammad bin Musleh Al-Jabri stressed not to introduce sharp instruments and the like, while forbidding the use of stickers on the marble floor of the Grand Mosque, or placing Qur’an holders and the like for the purpose of reserving places for breakfast, in addition to not using electricity plugs inside the columns for any purpose whatsoever.

He explained that it is also forbidden to place travel items on the bases of columns and air conditioning vents, and between shoe wheels or moving Zamzam water containers from their place by the breakfast service provider.

And he stressed the service provider not to bring breakfast early and leave it in the courtyards of the Grand Mosque so as not to be exposed to heat and damage under the sun's rays.
