On Tuesday, emails that appear to come from Övertorneå municipality's social director were sent out to municipalities in several places in Sweden.

In the email you are asked to click on links.

According to Övertorneå's security manager Thomas Norberg, this is about so-called phishing, meaning that those who click on the links can get rid of their credit card numbers, passwords or other sensitive information.

- Exactly how it happened must be investigated further, but none of our IT systems are affected, he says.

The incident has been reported to the police

How many people the email has been sent to is currently unclear.

- But the phone has gone hot with our social manager.

We do not have any information that anyone should click on the links, says Thomas Norberg.

The incident has now been reported to the police.

- I can not go into details about how our IT security is designed, but of course measures have been taken.
