Overseas Network, March 27. A new survey in the United States shows that due to the recent surge in anti-Asian violence, about three-quarters of Asian-American seniors in New York City are afraid to go out.

According to a report by the New York local media "Long Island City Post" on the 25th, the Asian American Federation conducted a survey of 153 elderly Asian Americans and 15 community organizations in New York City.

The results showed that 75% of respondents said they were afraid to leave their homes due to anti-Asian violence.

The federation's Asian American seniors advocacy group believes that seniors' concerns are related to the increase in prejudice attacks against Asians since the outbreak.

Hate crimes against local Asian-American and Pacific Islanders will increase by 343 percent in 2021 compared to 2020, according to NYPD data.

Four Asian-American women have been killed in violent attacks in recent months.
