Rep. Oh Young-hoon of the Democratic Party of Korea officially announced his candidacy for governor of Jeju-do in the June 1 local elections.



Rep. Oh held a press conference at the Jeju Chamber of Commerce and Industry International Conference Hall today (27th) and declared, "We will overcome the crisis of great transformation together with the Jeju residents, and completely change the future of Jeju by attracting 20 listed companies and challenging the city in 15 minutes." I lost.



He added, "We will usher in a new era of provincial government by obeying the strict orders of the residents to work solely for the sake of their owners."



Rep. Oh, who advocated 'Together for the future, working governor' as the slogan, said, "As a solver who untied the 4·3 thread, we will solve any pending issues proudly. We will create ‘Samda·Sammu Jeju’.”



Rep. Oh said, "We will make Jeju rich in future industries by focusing on attracting 20 listed companies and creating a foundation for core industries such as hydrogen economy, system semiconductors, and herbal medicine-based bio-health industry. We will design it and make it a '15-minute city Jeju' where medical, education, culture, shopping, and walking can be done anywhere within 15 minutes."



He also said, "I will create an alternative within two years of my term of office to end the era of imperial governors and introduce a Jeju-style local self-governing body in which the local residents directly elect the head of the basic group."



Oh, a former student council president of Jeju National University, has served as secretary-general of the Jeju 4·3 Provincial People's Solidarity, chairman of the steering committee of the Jeju provincial council, floor spokesperson for the Democratic Party of Korea, and chief of staff for presidential candidate Lee Jae-myung.
