Following the launch of an ICBM, an intercontinental ballistic missile, there is a situation that North Korea may conduct a nuclear test.

It is understood that they are speeding up the restoration of the nuclear test site that was blown up four years ago, but the Korean government judges that a nuclear test is possible in a month or two.

This is the picture of North Korea's nuclear test site bombing in May 2018.

With the exception of Tunnel 1, which is already known to be decommissioned, North Tunnel 2, South Tunnel 3, and West Tunnel 4 were demolished, but not completely destroyed.

[Park Han-ki / Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff at the time (October 2019 audit): Tunnel 3 and Tunnel 4 may be repaired and used again depending on the situation (I think there is a possibility)

] The ROK and US military authorities have recently discovered that a new passageway is being drilled in that direction while doing restoration work.

Unlike Tunnel 2, where the 2nd to 6th nuclear tests were conducted, no nuclear tests have been conducted in Tunnels 3 and 4.

Tunnel 3 is a structure that splits in two from the inside again, and it is known that the inside is stronger than the 4th.

South Korean and US military authorities are paying attention to the possibility of a seventh nuclear test as North Korea's recovery efforts accelerate.

A government source told SBS that the nuclear test would be possible in about two months, and another high-ranking government official predicted that the recovery would be possible in about a month, as the speed was faster than expected.

It is observed that the additional nuclear test will be a multi-purpose paving stone for the development of a tactical nuclear warhead to be mounted on short-range and medium-range missiles and the already-proclaimed super-large nuclear warhead.

The situation in which North Korea fired an intercontinental ballistic missile but failed to issue a statement condemning the UN Security Council due to opposition from China and Russia is expected to further accelerate the nuclear provocation.
