Abdullah bin Zayed meets Yair Lapid on his first official visit to Israel

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, met with Yair Lapid, the Israeli Minister of Foreign Affairs, on his first official visit to the State of Israel.

During the meeting, they discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations between the UAE and the State of Israel within the framework of the Abrahamic Peace Agreement signed between the two countries.

His Highness and Yair Lapid also discussed issues of common interest and exchanged views on developments on the regional and international arenas, including the crisis in Ukraine.

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan thanked Yair Lapid for the warm welcome on his first official visit to the State of Israel, stressing the existence of a common will from the two countries to strengthen their bilateral relationship and open up wider horizons for their development partnership at various levels.

His Highness stressed that the Emirati-Israeli relations are witnessing continuous growth and development in many sectors, since the signing of the Abrahamic Peace Agreement, noting that the two countries are working together for a prosperous future for their peoples and the peoples of the entire region.

His Highness reiterated the importance of building on the Abrahamic Agreement in order to achieve peace in the region, consolidate the pillars of security and stability there, and meet the aspirations of its peoples for development and prosperity.

His Highness pointed out that consolidating regional and global peace and stability is a fundamental driver of the UAE's foreign policy and part of its ten principles for the next fifty years. The country looks forward to working with its regional and global partners to achieve this goal.

The meeting was attended by Mohammed Mahmoud Al Khaja, UAE Ambassador to the State of Israel.
