The corona pandemic was recently downgraded to a no longer socially dangerous disease, but the large wave of refugees from Ukraine now means that Region Västernorrland is once again forced to shift its work towards the pandemic.

- It is important for us to inform and talk to the refugees about the importance of getting vaccinated, says Malin Platin Sjöblom, head of the region's new vaccination activities.

The vaccine is socially important

Information material has been produced in Ukrainian and the region wants to try to reassure the refugees that the vaccine is important, not only for the refugees themselves but also for society as a whole.

- Sweden's strategy that it is voluntary but that we also have a responsibility for our elderly and weak has been a recipe for success and we will continue on that line, says Malin Platin Sjöblom.
