Global cities witnessed demonstrations against the Russian war on Ukraine and denouncing Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The British capital, London, witnessed the largest of these protests, while Russian demonstrators chanted in Prague calling for Putin's departure, and the cities of New York, Tokyo and Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, witnessed marches and protests against Russia's military intervention in Ukraine.

A month after Russia launched its war on Ukraine, thousands of people demonstrated in central London in support of the Ukrainians, while London Mayor Sadiq Khan, who participated in the march, criticized the government's behavior towards Ukrainian refugees.

The demonstration, which was overshadowed by the colors of the Ukrainian flag (blue and yellow), came in response to the call made last week by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to demonstrate around the world.

The demonstrators carried banners reading "Peace to Ukraine" and phrases showing solidarity, chanting slogans saying "Stop the war."

During the demonstration, the mayor of London attacked the Russian president, describing his war as "barbaric aggression", but called on the British government to do more for the Ukrainian refugees.

"It is embarrassing to compare the actions of our government with those of Germany, France, Italy, Spain and Poland," he added.
