After that, the two sides issued a joint statement on EU energy security, announcing that they would set up a joint working group on energy security, which will be responsible for promoting the "strategic energy cooperation" between Europe and the United States and implementing specific policies.

  The statement shows that the top priority of the joint working group is for the United States to strive to ensure that at least an additional 15 billion cubic meters of LNG will be exported to the EU this year, and will continue to increase exports in the future.   On the other hand, the statement said that Europe and the United States will cooperate in formulating policy opinions, and through measures such as increasing the purchase of clean energy equipment, speeding up the approval of renewable energy projects, and promoting the deployment of clean energy technologies, the EU will reduce the overall demand for natural gas and reduce the dependence on fossil fuels.

  Later on the 25th, Von der Leyen and Biden jointly met with reporters and said that 5 billion cubic meters of LNG is equivalent to one-third of the current Russian LNG exports to Europe.
