(Fighting against New Coronary Pneumonia) The French epidemic continues to rebound and the number of new diagnoses in a single day exceeds 140,000 for three consecutive days

China News Agency, Paris, March 25 (Reporter Li Yang) The new crown epidemic in France has continued to rebound recently, with more than 140,000 new confirmed cases in a single day for three consecutive days from the 23rd to the 25th.

According to official French data, there were more than 140,000 new confirmed cases in a single day in France for three consecutive days: 145,560 new cases on the 23rd, 148,635 new cases on the 24th, and 143,571 new cases on the 25th.

The daily average of newly confirmed cases in France has now risen to 110,000, a 43% increase from the same period last week.

The cumulative number of confirmed cases in France is now 24,779,912; the cumulative number of deaths is now 141,551, with 108 new deaths.

The incidence rate of the new crown in France is now 1,095 infected people per 100,000 inhabitants, and the positive rate of the new crown virus test is 28.8%.

The outbreak in French schools is also rebounding.

According to data released by the French Ministry of Education on the 25th, affected by the epidemic this week (17th to 24th), a total of 3,080 classes and 12 schools in France were closed; a total of 81,424 students and 10,201 school staff were diagnosed with the new crown virus. Compared with the previous week, it increased by 54.5% and 64.5% respectively.

France lifted most of the epidemic prevention restrictions on the 14th of this month. On French campuses, healthy students do not need to wear masks outdoors or in classrooms under normal circumstances; new crown infections and related contacts still need to wear masks indoors.

Whether masks should be reinstated in schools and under what circumstances should be mandatory has sparked debate in the education community.

In areas with severe epidemics, some primary and secondary schools strongly recommend that students wear masks again on campus.

However, the school does not have the power to require students and staff to wear masks mandatory, and can only call on students in classes with confirmed cases to strengthen protection through "recommendations".

French President Emmanuel Macron said that it is a reasonable decision to lift most of the epidemic prevention restrictions, but if the epidemic again puts huge pressure on the medical system in the future, it is not ruled out that the relevant epidemic prevention restrictions will be reinstated.

The French Ministry of Health believes that the no longer mandatory indoor wearing of masks has no substantial impact on the current spread of the new coronavirus variant strain.
