The rise in coronavirus contamination figures worries teachers who see many infected students and teachers.

The question of the return of wearing a mask arises, given the fact that it is no longer compulsory.

Some recommend that parents ask their child to put the mask back on.

The figures of the coronavirus question.

The pandemic is on the rise again, after a drop which had prompted the executive to lighten health measures, with in particular the suspension of the vaccine pass on March 14.

This now raises the question of the return of wearing a mask, as in schools.

This week, there were 80,000 infected students and 10,000 teachers: almost twice as many as the previous week.

Schools follow the same increase in contamination as in the general population and students no longer have a mask since the start of the holidays.

Also, when a teacher is absent, mixing between classes is now allowed.

Last point: children are very little vaccinated.

Teachers alert parents

This resumption of the epidemic does not surprise anyone, but these figures are worrying.

School leaders feel responsible for the rapid spread of the virus when a case is positive.

Some send emails to parents of students and teachers to strongly recommend the return of the mask to classes.

However, this raises tensions since this measure can only be made compulsory by order of the prefect.

Teachers, therefore in the lower classes, do not hesitate to clash head-on with their management.

They are tired of having to put on this mask which penalizes them from an educational point of view.
