A man lost his life this Friday afternoon on a road in Bas-Rhin.

The accident occurred around 3 p.m. in Marlenheim, on departmental road 1004, towards Furdenheim.

A motorcycle and a truck collided, reports the Department's Fire and Rescue Service (Sdis) in a press release.

The 55-year-old biker was declared dead by a doctor from Dragon 67, the rescue helicopter dispatched to the scene.

The driver of the truck, 47, was slightly injured.

Two witnesses, septuagenarians, were shocked.

The axis was cut, the gendarmes and the mayor of Marlenheim went to the spot.
