According to the County Administrative Board's overall picture, many of the protection seekers who came from war-torn Ukraine to Västmanland have been redistributed here by the Swedish Migration Board.
They have arrived by bus from Skåne and received accommodation in different parts of the county.
The overall assessment is that the situation has not yet had a major impact on society's functions in general.
However, the burden is higher in certain areas such as healthcare, for those who work with integration and at schools.

Since many have come on their own, for example to relatives and friends, it is not known exactly how many Ukrainians are in the county or how that situation will develop.
- We do not know everyone who is here.
And we therefore urge those who have come on their own to apply to the Swedish Migration Agency in accordance with the Mass Refugee Directive, says Andreas Hornwall, Director of Defense at the County Administrative Board in Västmanland.
