When the rocket fire on Kyiv began, Anna decided to flee with her children.

She first went to her mother in central Ukraine and then to the border with Poland.

There they were picked up by Valeria and Shiar Ali.

Attempted kidnapping at the border

At the border, Anna was close to getting rid of her four-year-old daughter Alisa.

An unknown woman grabbed Alisa and ran away with her, before a soldier heard Anna's cry and stopped the woman.

Now Anna wants to warn Ukrainian mothers of human traffickers at the border crossings.

Mother remains in Ukraine

From the beginning, the idea was that the sisters' mother would also come to Sweden, but she changed at the last minute.

She wanted to stay with the sisters' father, who is in the Ukrainian army.

In addition, she takes care of homeless dogs and cats.

That work has become even more important now that many are forced to leave their pets in flight.

- She said it was her child and she should stay there, says Valeria Ali.
