  The seminar was hosted by the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences of Wenzhou University, organized by the Overseas Chinese College of Wenzhou University and the Italian Research Center of Wenzhou University. More than 20 people including representatives of overseas Chinese in Italy, experts and scholars of overseas Chinese studies at Wenzhou University attended the seminar.

The meeting was chaired by Wang Yi, Vice Dean of the Overseas Chinese College of Wenzhou University.

  In the theme report section, Han Li gave a theme report entitled "New Trends of Overseas Chinese in Italy in the Two Years since the Epidemic Occurred", and Yan Xiaopeng, head of the Italian Research Center of Wenzhou University, gave a theme report entitled "Enhancing the contribution of overseas Chinese in Italy to the China-Italy 'Belt and Road'" Countermeasures and Suggestions” theme report.

Zheng Ting, deputy director of the International Exchange Office of Wenzhou University, Xia Peigen and Zhou Tao, assistant researchers of the Italian Studies Center of Wenzhou University, shared relevant research results.

  The conference also held a press conference for the new book "The Belt and Road Initiative and Italian Overseas Chinese Businessmen". A free discussion session was held. The participating experts, Xu Ce, chairman of Ouhua Toutiao, and Chen Jing, deputy editor-in-chief of European Chinese News, focused on the relationship between overseas Chinese in Italy and the "Belt and Road Initiative".   It is reported that the Italian Research Center of Wenzhou University was inaugurated on May 31, 2017, and was selected into the Ministry of Education's country and regional research record list.

With the development goal of becoming a new type of think tank with Chinese characteristics, the center integrates Chinese and foreign academic resources to conduct research on Italian politics, economy, and culture, overseas Chinese studies, education and social integration of overseas Chinese children.
