Wearing a mask, as well as quarantine, will no longer be compulsory in Poland from March 28, given the drop in Covid-19 infections, the Minister of Health announced on Thursday.
Recommended for gatherings
“Both the international situation and the prospects and forecasts available to us are positive, that is, we expect that by the end of April we will have a significant reduction in infections and hospitalizations,” the official told the press Adam Niedzielski.
According to the new provisions, wearing a mask will only be compulsory in medical establishments or pharmacies.
However, the Minister recommends wearing a mask during large gatherings.
No more mandatory isolation
Contaminated people will no longer be required by law to submit to isolation, while their relatives will no longer have to observe quarantine.
This will also be lifted for people entering Poland from abroad, the minister announced.
As of March 1, the government has already lifted restrictions on the number of people in shopping malls, museums, hotels or restaurants.
Since the start of the pandemic, nearly 6 million Poles have been infected with the coronavirus, and nearly 115,000 have died.
