Heineken announced on Monday the release of a brand new surprising product: the Heineken Silver.

This is a beer only available in the metaverse, so a virtual drink, reports BFMTV.

The presentation of this new product was made by the global director of Heineken during a press conference in the virtual space of Decentraland.

“With the launch of the new Heineken Silver, available exclusively here in Decentraland, we bring a new dimension to our products.

The Heineken Silver is more than a beer: it's a combination of lots of pixels, a dash of computer code, and lots of nights of programming,” explained Bram Westenbrink.

“No hidden ingredients or even ingredients at all”

After Nike, Adidas or even Carrefour and Casino, Heineken has chosen to interfere in this virtual world of which the founder of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, never ceases to praise the merits.

During this virtual press conference, former footballer Thierry Henry appeared in avatar form juggling this can of Heineken Silver.

However, apart from a non-negligible aspect of communication, no one really knows what the objectives of the launch of a virtual drink which has “no hidden ingredient or even ingredient at all” really are.
