Four French nationals from the same family died Thursday morning after falling seven stories from the balcony of their apartment in Montreux, Switzerland, police said, adding that a fifth person is hospitalized.

"It appears that the five people are members of the same family of French nationals: the 40-year-old father, his 41-year-old wife, her twin sister and the couple's 8-year-old daughter are the four people who died.

The 15-year-old son is hospitalized in serious condition,” the Vaud cantonal police said in a statement.
