A French family falls from a building in Switzerland

Four French nationals from the same family died Thursday morning after falling seven stories from the balcony of their apartment in Montreux, Switzerland, police said, adding that a fifth person is hospitalized.

One of the five victims was hospitalized in serious condition.

The other four died.

"It appears that the five people are members of the same family of French nationals: the 40-year-old father, his 41-year-old wife, her twin sister and the couple's 8-year-old daughter are the four people who died.

The 15-year-old son is hospitalized in serious condition,” the Vaud cantonal police said in a statement.
