The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance in Saudi Arabia issued a set of instructions and directives for preparing mosques before the holy month of Ramadan.

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs stressed, according to local newspapers and media, the regulations and instructions for the work of mosque employees in all regions of the Kingdom, in order to serve worshipers and achieve the ministry's message and general objectives, in conjunction with the approaching month of Ramadan for this year.

The ministry stressed the imams and muezzins working in mosques of the necessity of regularity in their work and not being absent during the blessed month of Ramadan, not using cameras in mosques to photograph the imam and worshipers while performing prayers, and not transmitting prayers or broadcasting them in the media of all kinds, stressing that the muezzins must adhere to With the timing of the call to prayer according to the Umm Al-Qura calendar, and to confirm the time for the evening prayer call to prayer at the specified time in the month of Ramadan, and to stay after the call to prayer according to the approved period for each prayer.

The ministry called upon the importance of reminding imams of mosques to read useful books to the congregation of the mosque after the obligatory prayers, especially with regard to the provisions and etiquette of fasting, the virtues of the holy month and the provisions related to it, in addition to topics that touch the community’s need in belief and behavior, and what strengthens national cohesion.

The ministry stressed to all mosque workers in various regions of the Kingdom not to collect financial donations for projects that offer the Iftar for fasting people and others, and that the Iftar projects be in the courtyards of mosques and prepared places, and that they be under the responsibility of the imam or the muezzin, and that the places designated for breaking the fast are cleaned immediately after the completion of the Iftar.

The ministry indicated the emphasis on adherence to the rules of i’tikaaf, and that the imam of the mosque should be responsible for authorizing the worshipers, and the need to take into account the conditions of people in the Tarawih prayers, and to limit the prayers of channels to prayer mosques, and to emphasize the maintenance and hygiene institutions of the need to ensure the cleanliness of the mosque, women’s chapels and work to prepare them And intensifying field tours to follow up the work of cleaning and maintenance companies and the commitment of mosque workers to the instructions.

At the conclusion of its statement, the Ministry of Islamic Affairs noted the importance of “the mosque’s message and the role of mosque imams and preachers in exploiting the holy month by reminding worshipers and taking care of everything that contributes to their awareness, guidance and urging them to do good and exposure to God’s breath.” It also stressed “the need to educate worshipers not to harm, including bringing children.” Those who may cause confusion and inconvenience to worshipers, without following them, especially in Tarawih prayers.”
